Empty tank on the Gorge highway

Your driver was supposed to fuel up at the TA on 122nd. Forgot. Now the truck is on the shoulder of I-84 eastbound near Multnomah Falls with an empty fuel tank and a load that needs to be in Hood River by 6 PM.

Walking to a fuel station from Multnomah Falls is not an option. Calling a tow truck for an empty fuel tank is expensive and embarrassing. The truck is fine mechanically. It just needs diesel.

We deliver diesel to the truck on I-84. Enough to reach the next fuel stop or enough to finish the run. Your driver stays with the truck. The load stays on schedule.

What we deliver

Diesel fuel. Unleaded gasoline. DEF. We bring enough to get your truck operational and moving. For most fuel-out calls, 25 to 50 gallons of diesel gets the truck to the nearest fuel island with plenty of margin.

DEF is the quiet emergency

Diesel exhaust fluid runs out quietly. The truck runs fine until the DEF tank hits empty, then the ECM forces derate mode. Five mph. On I-5 through downtown Portland. With 60 mph traffic around you.

DEF consumption is roughly 2-3% of diesel consumption. On a truck burning 50 gallons of diesel per run, that is about a gallon of DEF. The DEF tank is smaller and easier to forget. When it runs dry, the truck goes into limp mode and you have a fully loaded semi doing walking speed on a freeway.

We deliver DEF on-site. A five-minute fill gets your truck out of derate and back to full power. Much better than a 50-mile crawl to the nearest truck stop.

Misfueled trucks

Someone put gasoline in a diesel truck. It happens more often than anyone admits. If the truck ran on the contaminated fuel, the injectors may be damaged. If they caught it before starting, a fuel system drain saves thousands in injector replacement.

Do not start the engine. Call us. We help coordinate the fuel system drain and flush before the contaminated fuel wrecks the injection system.

Portland metro coverage

We deliver fuel anywhere in the Portland metro area. I-5 from Wilsonville to the Columbia River. I-84 from Portland through the Gorge. I-205 through Clackamas and Oregon City. Swan Island, Columbia Corridor, Central Eastside, Northwest Portland. Port of Portland terminals.

The I-84 corridor east is where fuel-outs get serious. Between Troutdale and Hood River, fuel stations are sparse and the next one is always farther than your driver thought. We cover this corridor because a fuel-out in the Gorge is a real problem with few alternatives.

Fleet fuel management

For fleets, fuel-outs should be rare. But route changes, detours, gauge inaccuracies, and human error mean they still happen. When they do, we are the backup plan. Call, tell us where and what fuel, we deliver.
