Why the Grapevine triggers regen problems
The long climb from Castaic to Tejon Pass keeps engines at high RPM and high exhaust temps for miles. That accelerates soot loading in the DPF. If the truck cannot complete a passive regen during the climb, the system forces a parked regen or derates the engine.
